What do you do when your kids wake up on vacation and ask, "mom do we HAVE to go taste wines again today?" Time for a break!
We hung out at the house to swim and enjoy a couple cocktails. Carol enjoyed the waterfall at the house as well as the bottle of vodka (see below). That night we drove to the restaurant of Mark's choice. He had been there before and raved about it. Great food, just a late night. Jack and Gracie fell asleep at the table! It's tough to hang with 5 adults on vacation!
At the far end of the pool, each of them got their very own castle to defend!
This picture really needs no explanation. However, it was inspired by the recollection of a SNL skit with Adam Sandler and Chris Farley, a satirical beer commercial is perhaps the best way to describe it. So in your head, you should hear a Van Halen riff!
Jack found Aunt Josie to be very interesting when poolside! They became best buddies for some reason this day....got to love instincts!

As all good Uncles do, Gracie was given a lesson in flight by Uncle Markie!
I dare say that the Italian countryside may actually inspire "instantaneous happiness" a condition not normally experienced by parents of 3 below the age of 8!

Yup, gelato was enjoyed by all. Somehow when an Aunt and Uncle purchases it, it tastes better.
Clearly this was a riveting description of architecture. We were standing where the Palio takes place in Siena. In a couple of weeks, this would be a dirt track trampled by horses. Mark had previously witnessed the race.
