Fruhlingsfest!!!!

We finally got our first taste of a German festival!! This morning started off with Molly's first soccer game and then we took the train into Stuttgart for Fruhlinsfest (all people who speak German, please excuse the spelling...I don't have a German keyboard).

Fruhlingsfest is the Spring Festival that runs for about 3 weeks. It celebrates the beginning of Spring. Let me tell you...the Germans know how to celebrate!!! The festival started at 11 but we didn't get there until about 1:30. We had to leave by 4 so Michael that Michael could catch his flight to Isreal for the week. But 4 was a good time...started to get a bit rowdy for the kids!
There were women dressed in Dirndl (womens German clothing) and men in Lederhosen. It was awesome.
The rides were incredible (and incredibly expensive). You could easily drop 100 Euro in rides within an hour. But thank goodness we did not. We let the kids ride a couple rides and then the kids FINALLY allowed us to enter a beer tent!!! We had our first German Liters and the kids enjoyed some pommes (fries), hanhnchen (chicken), and the most delightful apple dessert. I finallly got to have maultauschen. Oh my goodness...It's almost like an oversized ravioli but better. The Germans put it in broth, or just the Maultauschen with a sauce...oh so stinkin good. My German teacher was telling us about it. She said she was once on Weight Watchers and looked up how many points Maultaschen would be...it would be all of her points for the day!!!
Good day, crazy day..can't wait to go back!!!!
